Mandatory Minimum for Repeat Violent Offenders

A second violent felony should carry real, predictable consequences instead of judicial discretion that too often trends lenient.

Section 1. A person convicted of a second violent felony offense shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment not less than the statutory maximum for the underlying offense, less any applicable good-time credit.
